very poor in fact very very very poor dont help when needed then when they do turn up they do nothing to much paper work nowadays and then they wonder why crime has gone up in birmingham people are dealing with it themselves and i dont blame them cuz the police do nothing

The Police say:

We are sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience with West Midlands Police. All calls for help to the Police have to be graded as to what sort of response that incident warrants. There will be occasions where the Police will not attend an incident because it is suitable for it to be dealt with in another way, ie by appointment. We would not condone taking the law in to your own hands and to always call 999 in the case of an emergency or 101 for a non emergency incident.

Sorry to hear you have had a bad experience with West Mildands Police. If you are still needing to report a crime we would urge you to contact the Police on 101

We had experienced antisocial behaviour over a number of nights which included eggs amongst other rubbish being thrown at our windows and solar panels. We called 101 on Saturday evening and PC Griffin and Moore attended. Their conduct was exemplary, they were understanding of how frustrated we were and acted upon the information we gave them. They went on to arrest the ring leader and followed up as necessary. They took the time to let us know the outcome and were very reassuring. I am an educational professional and fully understand how stretched public services are particularly the Police Force. Please give recognition to these two Officers who carry their responsibility with Pride and uphold the reputation of Police Officers. I can't thank them enough for their professionalism, hard work but most of all their care. Brilliant service.

The Police say:

Sorry to hear you have been subjected to such behaviour. It sounds as though the officers did a great job in nipping things in the bud at an early stage and kept you in the loop whilst doing so. It's lovely to hear positive comments regarding the outstanding work which officers carry out on a daily basis. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Your comments have been forwarded to the officers and their supervisiors for their information

On a visit to Bournville Lane Police station I spoke to a gentleman member of Police Staff. When he could not locate the issue I was speaking about while he was sitting at the computer he asked me for my address. I informed him I did not wish to give him my address in a raised voice so as everybody present in the public area could hear it. The Police staffs reply was "does it matter". I informed him of my concerns about privacy and as such I like to keep my personal information as private as I possibly can. I have had occasion to visit Bournville Lane Police Station on subsequent other dates and I have not seen an improvement in the the Police Staffs' attitude in regards to treatment of member of the public. Is it West Midlands Police thoughts that only by way of complaints is one able to correct poor service and attitude of its employees? If not what more could I have said to improve the attitude that I perceived to be displayed on many occasions.

The Police say:

All of our staff are advised to approach the counter to speak to members of the public and not shout across to them. Staff should appreciate that people will not want to shout private information in the public area. Both of these points will be fed back to the staff within all of our front offices to reiterate this point. We strive to offer the best possible service to the public. Where it is identified by a member of the public or another member of staff that this is not the case, we will look at ways to address this. We are sorry for any stress and embarrassment this may have caused you and please be assured that this is being addressed

Had a small scale burglary not much taken but still annoying. Someone has trespassed on our property, they have intruded into our private space. Needed to report it as it still counts as a crime in the area. Police came out promptly; case was taken seriously. PC Taylor was very professional in dealing with our case; was very understanding, took all the details and gave advice on additional security measures that we could take.Thank you very much.

My bike was stolen (whilst it was locked up) and half an hour after finding it missing I filed a report with the police, thankfully about 15 minutes before I had even filed the report they found someone on my bike, noticing suspicious behaviour of the person who had stolen it and they confiscated the bike. I got a call from them the next day telling me they had found my bike and I was so relieved after having it my head I was never going to see it again. They were very efficient and handled everything really well and the person who stole my bike has now been arrested so I'm really happy with everything they've done for me. last year i was refused to report 450 re-portable criminal instances at the allotment site i deal with, we had every thing from criminal damage to assault, threatening behavior and hundreds of thefts of live stock and crops as well as plant and machinery, and we are on purposed not allowed to report them to keep the figures of crime in the area at a false low, i know of people how have been violently attacked by dogs in open parks and after hospital treatment were point blank refused to be allowed to report the crime on the account dog crime is not a re portable indecent. there is a massive cover up in the west midlands to hide crime and distort figures

Incident on 14/10/15, Log 2057 My wife and I would like to thank PC 2777 Phillips and PC 215185 Andrews and all the other officers who attended the above incident, for their professionalism, friendliness and patience. They are a credit to our hard working police force.

As a victim of racial abuse, religious abuse and abusive death threats...not to mention being driven at three times - my life being put in direct danger by a white racist!...I called WM police! Two unhelpful and couldn't care less officers turned up. Wasted two hours of my time and two hours of my wifes time! They were reluctant to help, assist or arrest the thug! The thug was NOT charged for any crime - go figure? I made a complaint against the two uniforms, turns out that their inspector at stechford didn't want to investigate two of his finest either and fobbed me off with delays! Contacting the police was and is, a waste of time. They don't care about any racist crimes or about any community in Birmingham. They deliberately mislead the public and the media with sound bites and useless promises! Had I been a police officer, guaranteed the white racist thug would have charged with numerous counts. My advice - please don't waste your time calling 999 in Birmingham. WM police love chasing targets but not criminals. Remember this is the same institution that gave us operation Champion! Service provided is utterly disgraceful...the PR is brilliant thou!

The Police say:

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment on to this site. We are sorry you feel let down by West Midlands Police. It has been noted that you recorded your complaint through the appropriate channels with the Professional Standards Department. Following the conclusion of the investigation in to your complaint a letter was sent to you detailing the conclusions of the investigation which provided you with a right of appeal should you not have been happy with the outcome. To note, you did not excersise your right to appeal.

Many thanks to PCs Nunn and Withers who arrived promptly when we reported a theft from our property, and who were good-humoured and supportive throughout their visit.

OfficerPC 20991 Helle-Lorentzen My house was broken into and the above officer came to take a statement and provide assistance. She was very supportive, with a caring, gentle approach. I was very upset about the incident but she was able to put me at ease. She therefore made a distressing situation more bearable. I therefore wish to recognise her efforts.
